ALASKA INTEGRATED MEDIA has signed on KOAN-A/ANCHORAGE as "FOX NEWS TALK 1020." The station will add an FM simulcast on translator K238BE/ANCHORAGE by mid-JANUARY.
The station, which has been silent since 2008 and was previously a simulcast of Classical KLEF as KAXX-A, then Business news as KABA-A, is relaunching under PD JUSTIN MCDONALD with a lineup that includes a local show with progressive talker SHANNYN MOORE 11a-2p, plus FOX NEWS TALK's BRIAN KILMEADE, JOHN GIBSON, TOM SULLIVAN, and ALAN COLMES; CITADEL's JOHN BATCHELOR and "RED EYE RADIO WITH DOUG MCINTYRE"; and COMPASS MEDIA NETWORKS' LARS LARSON. The station also has a checkerboard of local shows 2-3p, and is carrying various syndicated shows and "best ofs" on the weekends.
With the launch, sister Talk KUDO-A has gone silent for now, with listeners directed by the station's website to the new station.
