OREGON Congressional Rep. Greg Walden, a former radio station owner, has been chosen to lead the House Energy and Commerce Communications, Technology and the Internet Subcommittee in JANUARY, when Republicans control the House. The House Communications Subcommittee oversees the FCC and most broadcasting issues.
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BROADCASTERS Pres./CEO GORDON SMITH said, "NAB congratulates Rep. WALDEN on being picked to serve as chair of the House Communications Subcommittee. NAB welcomes the opportunity to work closely with incoming Subcommittee Chairman WALDEN, Vice Chair LEE TERRY and House Commerce Committee Chairman FRED UPTON in the new year and beyond."
