JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP Country KFDI/WICHITA's morning team finished its third annual "CHRISTMAS in a Box" collection drive with a total of 1,000 boxes to be sent to troops deployed to IRAQ, AFGHANISTAN, DJIBOUTI, AFRICA and SOUTH KOREA this CHRISTMAS season.
The boxes contained donations from KFDI listeners, including CHRISTMAS decorations, snacks, toiletries and entertainment items along with cards and letters written and drawn by local schoolchildren.
"We couldn’t do this project without the support of the listeners and some of the great businesses in WICHITA," said morning host BRIAN PIERCE. "This year it came down to the wire on getting the postage money. We have great listeners. They made sure we had every penny we needed to mail the boxes."
