MAVERICK MEDIA Country WAXX/EAU CLAIRE, WI PD/morning star GEORGE HOUSE will exit his position at the end of the year, and was planning to "pursue interests outside of broadcasting," -- but hold that thought.
While DECEMBER 30th will indeed be his last show on WAXX. HOUSE told WEAU-TV 13, "It’s been my dream to own and operate my own small business and starting in JANUARY that’s going to happen. I was explaining my new plan to MAVERICK MEDIA VP/Market Mgr. GEORGE ROBERTS; he had an idea to keep me on the MAVERICK radio team. [WDRK] BOB FM 99.9 currently doesn’t have live announcers and ROBERTS asked me if I was interested in working part-time in the morning for a few hours each weekday. As it turned out, this was an excellent plan for both of us. So on FEBRUARY 1st, I’ll have a new radio address, 99.9 BOB FM!"
HOUSE has 22 years at WAXX and has won multiple national radio awards from the COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION, NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BROADCASTERS and WISCONSIN BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION.
Look for RICK ROBERTS to assume HOUSE's Station Manager duties for WAXX.
