Longtime SOUTH FLORIDA radio icon NEIL ROGERS has died of congestive heat failure at the age of 68. Born NELSON ROGER BEHELFER on NOV. 5th, 1942, ROGERS passed earlier TODAY at the VITAS HOSPICE at Florida Medical Center in Broward County.
ROGERS was a controversial talk show host in the MIAMI-FT. LAUDERDALE market for over 30 years. The caustically pointed "UNCLE NEIL" worked at WKAT, WNWS, WINZ, WZTA and WIOD, before finishing out his career at BEASLEY Sports WQAM-A/MIAMI. He retired in JUNE 2009 after recovering from a stroke and heart attack.
