Reaction to the passing of TEENA MARIE has been TWITTER-fast and sorrowful, as the first hint a possible reason behind her untimely death has been posted at MTV.COM.
Iconic rapper DIDDY tweeted: "R.I.P TEENA MARIE. God Bless. Damn I just saw her the other day."
Also Tweeting was MARY J. BLIGE, who wrote, "Rest in peace TEENA MARIE. My Love for u is forever."
COMMON Tweeted: "TEENA and I are both Pisces and we believe that we've been here before. That's why 'De Ja Vu' is my favorite song."
Noted SHEILA E: "I will miss my girl TEENA MARIE, Real music by real people. God bless my sistah and her family. U will be missed."
More conventional means of reaction came from legendary "Sound of PHILADELPHIA" songwriters/producers KENNETH GAMBLE & LEON HUFF: "We’re shocked and deeply saddened by the sudden loss of TEENA MARIE. She was one of the most memorable, soulful and unique R&B vocalists to come out of MOTOWN. We send our condolences to TEENA’s family, the entire MOTOWN family and of course, our dear friend BERRY GORDY."
In a statement to CNN, O'JAYS Founder EDDIE LEVERT noted that MARIE was a white singer who truly possessed the voice and soul of African-Americans. "There are a lot of black people who swore by her and believed in her, as far as her music was concerned," he said. "She was a good mom, and to me, that is saying a lot.''
Meanwhile, MTV.COM reported that her publicist said MARIE had suffered a grand mal seizure a month ago, from which she was still recovering, while law enforcement sources have told TMZ that no illegal drugs were found at her home
