Punk legends THE RAMONES are one of several artists who will be honored by THE RECORDING ACADEMY as its 2011 Special Merit Award recipients. Other Lifetime Achievement Award honorees are JULIE ANDREWS, ROY HAYNES, JUILLIARD STRING QUARTET, THE KINGSTON TRIO, DOLLY PARTON and GEORGE BEVERLY SHEA.
A special invitation-only ceremony will be held during GRAMMY Week on FEB. 12th, 2011, and a formal acknowledgment will be made during the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast, which will be held at STAPLES CENTER in L.A. on SUNDAY, FEB. 13th, and broadcast live at 8p ET/PT on the CBS-TV.
