ENTERCOM Country KWJJ (THE WOLF)/PORTLAND, OR is switching to “The DUCK,” as of TODAY (1/10). “We're trading fur for feathers,” said PD MIKE MOORE. “Station colors will go from our traditional red, white and blue, to the green and gold, and the logo will now feature a webbed foot instead of the stamp of the Paw.”
According to the official release from the station: “Like The WOLF, The OREGON DUCK is another perfect animal mascot that represents fun, loyalty, intelligence and pride in our state. It is an obvious transition.”
There’s even a ‘fight song’ for the new DUCK. Morning personalities MIKE CHASE, AMY FAUST and DAN CLARK, have teamed up with local TV personality PETE FERRYMAN of FOX-12 to pen “Big Duck Convoy.’ Check it out here.
So will the WOLF eat the DUCK and be back TOMORROW? We’ll see, but we do know that this is a show of support for the UNIVERSITY OF OREGON DUCKS, playing the AUBURN TIGERS in ARIZONA in the BCS CHAMPIONSHIP, TOMORROW (1/11).
