GLENN BECK lived and hosted his show from the PHILADELPHIA area before moving to his present NEW YORK base, but now that his PREMIERE RADIO NETWORKS show has been dropped by his former flagship, CBS RADIO Talk WPHT-A/PHILADELPHIA, he has less-than-kind words to say about the City of Brotherly Love.
On TUESDAY's show, BECK, discussing the woes of CAMDEN, NJ (across the DELAWARE RIVER from PHILADELPHIA), told his producer, "You know how PHILADELPHIA is not a place you wanna be?" He went on to suggest that the area around INDEPENDENCE HALL is dangerous at 6 or 7p, and when his producer STEVE (STU) BURGUIERE responded that there are many safe areas of the city, BECK joked, "Don't listen to STU. PHILADELPHIA sucks."
Liberal media criticism organization MEDIA MATTERS FOR AMERICA fellow and PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS Senior Writer WILL BUNCH wasted no time in putting an edited clip of BECK's comments on the DAILY NEWS' website; hear the segment by clicking here.
