A former MARSHFIELD, MA lawyer and radio personality pleaded not guilty TUESDAY (4/18) to larceny.
The BOSTON GLOBE reports that GERALD BATTISTA, who was a one-time host on WATD/MARSHFIELD (the station parted ways with BATTISTA in OCTOBER '05 after his law license was suspended), is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail for allegedly failing to turn over about $240,000 owed to a couple BATTISTA helped buy one house and sell another.
BATTISTA eventually paid the money, but a state Attorney General investigation noted records of alleged spending from BATTISTA's client account on a JAGUAR, personal mortgage and credit card payments, and $14,000 on strip clubs. Despite BATTISTA's license being suspended in OCTOBER, he allegedly continued to practice law anyway.
