ARBITRON first quarter revenues rose 7.4% to $85.1 million, with spending on the Personal People Meter trial increasing expenses and resulting in net income declining 8.3% to $18.2 million (per-share off 7.9% to 58 cents).
The company's second quarter guidance is for a 6-8% revenue increase and a decrease in earnings per share from 48 to 20-22 cents/share.
