Court Rejects Astral Challenge To Corus-COGECO Deal

Deal Survives Challenge

The Federal Court of Appeal in CANADA refused to hear ASTRAL MEDIA's appeal of the already-closed C$80 million sale of 11 radio stations in QUEBEC by CORUS to COGECO, reports CANADIAN PRESS. ASTRAL applied to the court in JANUARY for leave to appeal the deal after the CRTC approved the sale in DECEMBER, but was turned down.

COGECO closed on the purchase on FEBRUARY 1st.
