Eric Church & The Band Perry Win ACM 'Top New' Awards

The ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC and GREAT AMERICAN COUNTRY (GAC) announced TODAY (2/25) that CAPITOL/NASHVILLE artist ERIC CHURCH and REPUBLIC NASHVILLE’s THE BAND PERRY have been named “Top New Solo Vocalist” and “Top New Vocal Duo or Group,” respectively, as determined by fan voting.
The two winners will now vie for the “Top New Artist” award, which will be given out on the 46th Annual ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC (ACM) AWARDS, held at the MGM GRAND GARDEN ARENA in LAS VEGAS SUNDAY, APRIL 3rd. The show will be broadcast at 8p (live ET/delayed PT) on CBS-TV.
CAPITOL/NASHVILLE artist LUKE BRYAN, the reigning “Top New Artist” from 2010, will present the awards to CHURCH and THE BAND PERRY in front of Country radio’s elite at the ACM-sponsored CRS (COUNTRY RADIO SEMINAR) MUSIC CITY JAM in NASHVILLE on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 2nd. The MUSIC CITY JAM is open to CRS registrants and takes place at the NASHVILLE CONVENTION CENTER.
Fans can watch the winners receive their ACM trophies and hear their acceptance speeches on the “ACM Top New Artists” special, premiering MONDAY, MARCH 14th on GAC-TV at 9p (ET).
Voting to determine this year’s “Top New Artist” will take place at www.VoteACM.com, powered by CBS.com, beginning MARCH 11th at noon (PT) and will continue until 5p (PT) on SUNDAY, APRIL 3rd. The winner will be named on the broadcast of the 46th Annual ACM AWARDS.
