Phil Collins 'Apologizes' For Success, Quits Music Business

In a surprise announcement, PHIL COLLINS has told the world he's quitting music. PEOPLE MAGAZINE reports, the solo artist and GENESIS frontman and drummer said in an interview with FHM MAGAZINE, that health problems have taken their toll.

COLLINS has a dislocated vertebra, which causes back pain, he's lost some of his hearing and it's now difficult for him to hold his drumsticks due to nerve damage..

Despite his successful career, COLLINS commented on the current music scene, saying, "I don't really belong to that world and I don't think anyone's going to miss me. I'm much happier just to write myself out of the script entirely."

COLLINS strangely apologized for how well things went for him. I'm sorry that it was all so successful. I honestly didn't mean it to happen like that. It's hardly surprising that people grew to hate me," he said.
