A call to CLEAR CHANNEL Alternative WXDX (105.9 THE X)/PITTSBURGH's morning show led police to arrest a man for possession of marijuana last week.
The PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE-REVIEW reports that MICHAEL HEGLAND, a 25-year-old man in IRWIN, PA, was heard telling co-host BOB MCLAUGHLIN about a traffic stop in which he was cited for not changing the address on his driver's license and had problems reaching the policeman to have the charges dropped, but MCLAUGHLIN told him, "Do me a favor, though. When you go to the Irwin police station, don't be as high as you are right now." HEGLAND responded, "Hey, they're going to have to deal with it," and someone called Police Chief JOSEPH POCSATKO relating the content of the interview, and when HEGLAND came to the police station to contest his ticket, POCSATKO smelled pot coming from his car and asked HEGLAND about the radio call; HEGLAND said, "I always call them guys and jack them around about being high." After HEGLAND produced a bag of suspected pot and a pipe, he was cited for possession, although he was not cited for being under the influence.
