Talk radio consultant HOLLAND COOKE's presentation at NAB2006 TUESDAY (4/25) promoted podcasting for broadcasters, stressing the value of getting more use out of radio content.
COOKE told broadcasters to think of podcasting as "extending the experience" of listening and taking advantage of making the content portable for use by busy people like soccer moms. Podcasting, archiving content on websites, and streaming, COOKE said, "makes your work count twice" when consumers get to hear it another time, or they can be used to fill holes in the marketplace.
Noting that RUSH LIMBAUGH sells his content online through podcasts and streaming audio/video that effectively competes with his broadcast affiliates, COOKE advised broadcasters "let's do what he does."
