Marty Mitchell Joins WKMK As PD

PRESS COMMUNICATIONS Country WKMK (THUNDER 106)/MONMOUTH-OCEAN, NJ has hired veteran programmer MARTY MITCHELL as PD. MITCHELL is most recently of JVC BROADCASTING Country WJVC (MY COUNTRY 96.1)/CENTER MORICHES, NY, where he was APD/MD/afternoon drive. He also worked for the former Country WYNY/NEW YORK and SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO.

Current PD JACK APONTE (“CAPTAIN JACK”) will continue in his role as “Music and Entertainment Director" and handle afternoon drive. With this change, JACK will now coordinate his music and entertainment efforts through MITCHELL.

GM RICH MORENA said: “These changes are necessary in light of THUNDER’s explosion in NEW JERSEY and beyond. MARTY will be able to now direct the THUNDER 106 team efforts to accommodate this tremendous growth with THUNDER’s format and listenership.”
