Rogers Q1 Revenues Jump

ROGERS COMMUNICATIONS' media division, which includes its 46 radio stations across CANADA as well as OMNI TV stations, ROGERS SPORTSNET cable networks, publishing interests, the TORONTO BLUE JAYS and ROGERS CENTRE, and cable network interests, reported first quarter revenues rising 9.5% to C$240.1 million, with overall corporate revenue up 28.4% to C$2.03 billion, paced by a 20.1% increase in wireless revenue. Media operating profit rose 15.9% to C$13.1 million, with overall net income up from a loss of C$46 million to a gain of C$14.8 million. ROGERS does not break out radio revenue in its reports.
The company also declared a semi-annual dividens of C$0.075/share, payable JULY 4 to shareholders of record on JUNE 14.
