SIRIUSXM P.O.T.U.S. channel PD and host JOE MATHIEU is joining CBS RADIO News-Talk WBZ-A/BOSTON as morning news anchor, filling the slot left open with the retirement of ED WALSH last NOVEMBER. Market veteran ROD FRITZ has been filling in since WALSH exited; WALSH had anchored mornings since GARY LAPIERRE's DECEMBER 2006 retirement.
MATHIEU, who will start at WBZ in MAY, was a founding member of P.O.T.U.S., originally created in 2007 to cover the 2008 presidential election, and previously served as Managing Editor at MARKETWATCH RADIO NETWORK and as an anchor/editor at METRO NETWORKS/WASHINGTON.
Before working in the nation's capital, MATHIEU was News Director and anchor at BOCH BROADCASTING/CAPE COD and an anchor and reporter at several stations, including WRKO-A/BOSTON.
