PITTSBURGH COMMUNITY BROADCASTING Triple A WYEP/PITTSBURGH is ready to release its latest live-from-the-studio CD called "Live & Direct, Volume 13."
To celebrate, the station is throwing a party at SCHENLEY PLAZA in OAKLAND on FRIDAY, MAY 6th. Local bands NIK & THE CENTRAL PLAINS and COLONIZING THE COSMOS will be performing.
The latest collection features live performances by MICHAEL FRANTI & SPEARHEAD, BRANDI CARLILE, GRACE POTTER & THE NOCTURNALS, JP, CHRISSIE & THE FAIRGROUND BOYS and many more.
In other ‘YEP news, the station will air a special series celebrating 20 years of "The Allegheny Front," an award-winning program focusing on environmental issues of WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA. The series begins on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 6th and runs through DECEMBER 2011.
