PEAK BROADCASTING Top 40 KSAS (KISS FM)/BOISE morning host KEKE LUV began his "Live for 175" fundraiser to help abused children last FRIDAY (4/8) at 10a (MT). LUV began seven days and seven hours (175) of no sleep and no solid food, to raise awareness against CHILD ABUSE.
Last year, it was NO SLEEP FOR KEKE, and in 2009, KEKE ran 7 marathons in 7 days.
KEKE spoke to ALL ACCESS at 6:30a (MT) this morning, about how he's doing: "I feel fine and am not thinking about food. I can sense everything, which is weird. Not sure if it's getting rid of a bunch of stuff from my system but it's like I have SPIDERMAN senses right now. Breakfast today is AQUAFINA water, GATORADE and vitamin water. And I have some ice tea I'm sipping throughout the day. It doesn't taste right. It's like I can taste every ingredient in it. It's weird."
While KEKE feels fine so far, "I'm very happy that our amazing friends at the ADA COUNTY PARAMEDICS are standing by! Last year doing my stay awake they brought me food and fruit. Now they are just keeping an eye on me.
"The community has really embraced this cause, and are coming forward with their tales of child abuse on a personal basis. Some have bought balloons and are seen walking down the street with many of them.
Folks have called on me to help through depression and suicide. It's a humbling experience."So, after 175 hours of not eating, where is KEKE going when he can eat again at 10a on FRIDAY (4/15)? "I'm going to OLIVE GARDEN when I get done and order the whole menu. A salad will probably fill me up, but that's where my head is at -- lots of food."
