FLINN Top 40 WHBQ(Q107.5)/MEMPHIS tell ALL ACCESS that their "DOLLAR DAY" promotion was one of the most successful fundraisers since the stations official launch two years ago (04/12/04).
Morning show hosts KARSON & KENNEDY enlisted the help of "Q COORDINATORS" at over 25 local elementary schools, high schools and colleges across the Mid-South, asking students to each donate just ONE DOLLAR. The $7,635 that was raised for the victims of the tornados that swept through the region on APRIL 2nd killing 25 people in nearby DYER and GIBSON county was donated to the AMERICAN RED CROSS.
What makes this story even more amazing is that tornados swept through the area again during DOLLAR DAY. All area schools were required to close early as tornado sirens forced evacuations. Thankfully there were no fatalities or injuries during the second wave of major weather.
