THOM HARTMANN's appearance in his friend TOM SHADYAC's new documentary "I AM" got some extra exposure when a clip of the DIAL GLOBAL syndicated talker was played on the OPRAH WINFREY Show.
SHADYAC appeared on OPRAH's show WEDNESDAY (4/20) to promote the film, which the director, previously known for a series of comedies starring JIM CARREY ("BRUCE ALMIGHTY," "ACE VENTURA, PET DETECTIVE," "LIAR, LIAR"), said was partly inspired by HARTMANN's book "The Last Hours of Sunlight." The film features SHADYAC asking Bishop DESMOND TUTU, leftist historian HOWARD ZINN, linguist and liberal pundit NOAM CHOMSKY, and HARTMANN the questions "What's wrong with our world?" and "What do we do about it?" The clip featured HARTMANN talking about whether competition or cooperation is the essential nature of humans.
