It's almost as if HOWARD STERN got appointed to the Senate Commerce Committee: former controversial QUEBEC radio talker ANDRE ARTHUR, now a Member of Parliament, has been named to the House of Commons standing committee on industry, science, and technology, the panel that oversees the CRTC's telecommunications and Internet issues. ARTHUR was not, however, seated on the Canadian Heritage committee, which oversees the CRTC's broadcast programming regulation, a thorn in ARTHUR's side for years.
ARTHUR was elected to Parliament as an independent from the PORTNEUF-JACQUES-CARTIER riding of QUEBEC CITY in JANUARY.
