The GRAND OLE OPRY in NASHVILLE and the OPRY HOUSE’s refurbished backstage area are set to be featured during a segment on NBC-TV’s “TODAY SHOW WEEKEND” on SUNDAY, MAY 15th. “NBC NIGHTLY NEWS/TODAY SHOW WEEKEND” anchor LESTER HOLT visited the OPRY last month for the story that showcases the OPRY HOUSE following its $20 million refurbishment after the MAY 2010 flooding placed much of the OPRY under four feet of water.
HOLT was also a guest announcer during his OPRY visit and was a part of the OPRY’s “I’m With The Band” series, playing bass for CAPITOL RECORDS artist LUKE BRYAN. HOLT’s piece for the “TODAY SHOW” also discusses the important role the OPRY plays in Country music and the lives of artists such as JIMMY DICKENS, LARRY GATLIN, RICKY SKAGGS and BRYAN.
