COLUMBIA/NASHVILLE artist MIRANDA LAMBERT recently returned to her native TEXAS to host the 4th Annual “CAUSE FOR PAWS” Benefit, which was held at the FESTIVAL ON THE SQUARE in TYLER. More than 7,000 people came to see MIRANDA and special musical guests, STONEY LARUE and JOSH KELLEY.
Through ticket sales, sponsorships and live auction items, this year’s event raised more than $294,000 bringing the total amount from the last four years to almost $600,000. Proceeds will go toward MUTTNATION, LAMBERT’s foundation that supports animal shelters, and the HUMANE SOCIETY OF EAST TEXAS. Since LAMBERT started the foundation, THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF EAST TEXAS has become a no-kill shelter.
“This year we took our event to the streets of TYLER to open it up to a broader fan base for both MIRANDA and the shelter,” said Dir./MUTTNATION BEV LAMBERT. “There was no shortage of support in this community. Going from 1,000 to over 7,000 in attendance was quite the feat and we are more than thrilled with the outcome! We want to thank all of our amazing sponsors and the City of TYLER as well as the people of EAST TEXAS and beyond for joining us in the fight to aid homeless, abandoned, neglected and abused animals.”
MIRANDA added, “It was wonderful to come home to TYLER again for ‘CAUSE FOR PAWS’ this year. It’s a moving experience to see all of the support for a cause that is so close to my heart. I am thankful to my fans and everyone who came to be part of this day and help these animals.”
