MOMENTUM BROADCASTING LP has officially acquired the radio properties of WESTCOAST BROADCASTING, INC. of TULARE and TIPTON, CA, which includes Country KJUG-F, Classic Country KJUG-A and Hot AC KCRZ (Z 104.9).
KJUG was the first Country station on the west coast, established in 1977 and operated by WESTCOAST BROADCASTING for over 30 years. “It was important for me to find a buyer that had strong local roots and was committed to continuing the tradition that we developed over the last 30 years,” said WESTCOAST BROADCASTING Pres. LARRY WOODS. “I am confident the tradition will continue.”
“MOMENTUM BROADCASTING is prepared to make the capital investment to allow for our radio stations to continue to be the leaders in our market,” said long time GM WAYNE FOSTER, who will continue running the day-to-day operations of the stations.
MOMENTUM has also announced the promotion of APD ADAM JEFFRIES to PD for KJUG-A and KJUG-F. He replaces DAVE DANIELS, who exited the station MAY 31st, to take the position of Exec. Dir. at the new TWILIGHT PARK (NEW NEWS 5/23). MOMENTUM plans to announce a new morning team for KJUG-F in the next couple of weeks. Midday host LISA HAMILTON is currently handling mornings for KJUG-F.
In other cluster news, APD/MD RANDY HENDRIX has been promoted to assume DAVE DANIELS' PD duties at Hot AC KCRZ (Z 104.9).
