Condolences to family and friends of longtime TACOMA, WA broadcaster CLAY HUNTINGTON, who died WEDNESDAY in TACOMA at 89, according to the TACOMA NEWS-TRIBUNE.
HUNTINGTON owned four different stations since 1960 with the same KLAY call letters, most recently the Talk station licensed to LAKEWOOD, WA on 1180 AM that launched in 1991. He was also known as a sportscaster on radio and television, starting in 1941 at KMO-A and KTBI-A, and calling baseball, football, basketball, and hockey on several stations in the region. In addition, HUNTINGTON founded the State of WASHINGTON Sports Hall of Fame.
