BICOASTAL MEDIA Country KSHR (KSHORE)/COOS BAY, OR and OREGON COMMUNITY COLLEGE in COOS BAY, will have the first elimination of the TEXACO COUNTRY SHOWDOWN on THURSDAY, JUNE 23rd.

The Country music talent search will be held at the HALE CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS, on the campus of SOUTHWESTERN OREGON COMMUNITY COLLEGE. Winners will advance to the state event where prizes include $1,000, and the opportunity to compete in one of the five regional events. Regional winners will receive an all-expense-paid trip to the televised national final, perform at the RYMAN AUDITORIUM in NASHVILLE, and compete for $100,000.

Each year, more than 50,000 people compete throughout the U.S., and past regional winners include, MARTINA McBRIDE, GARTH BROOKS, MIRANDA LAMBERT, NEAL McCOY, SARA EVANS, BRAD PAISLEY, and BILLY RAY CYRUS.
