Saga's Ithaca Cluster Raises $12,000 For Police K-9

SAGA COMMUNICATIONS' CAYUGA RADIO GROUP/ITHACA raised over $12,000 THURSDAY (6/18) to help TOMPKINS COUNTY, NY with the cost of a new Police K-9 to replace Narcotics K-9 "Major," who passed away from cancer in MARCH.  The fundraiser aired on all seven stations in the cluster, starting at 6a (ET) and reaching the initial goal of $6,500 by 10a.

GM SUSAN JOHNSTON said, "I'm overwhelmed by the outpouring of this community, and I'm so proud of the CAYUGA RADIO GROUP staff for fully supporting this cause. It is obvious that the TOMPKINS COUNTY Sheriffs Department had the community's full support with raising funds for a new Police K-9."

The cluster includes Talk WHCU-A-W240CB, Country WQNY (Q COUNTRY 103.7), Talk WNYY-A, AC WYXL (LITE ROCK 97.3), and Classic Rock WIII-W262AD (I-100).
