Country great COWBOY JACK CLEMENT’s home of 40 years burned on SATURDAY afternoon (6/25) off BELMONT BOULEVARD in NASHVILLE. CLEMENT and his girlfriend ALENNE JACKSON escaped from the fire unharmed, along with three cats and CLEMENT’s vintage guitars. Among those guitars was a GIBSON J200 guitar he bought in 1951 while in the MARINES that had been scratched by ELVIS PRESLEY’s belt buckle.
CLEMENT was wearing ELVIS print pajamas when he exited the home and told the TENNESSEAN that he is sure some memorabilia had been lost. The fire began in the attic space and a cause had not yet been determined.
Check out more on the story from THE TENNESSEAN here.
