ALL ACCESS has learned that well-respected, veteran programmer and COX national Urban format coordinator JAY “MIXIN’” DIXON has exited after more than 11 years with the company. Officially, his position has been eliminated. Based in ATLANTA, DIXON was also in charge of programming for COX Urban AC WALR (KISS 104).

DIXON’s storied career path includes an 11-year stint at EMMIS Urban AC WRKS(98.7 KISS)/NEW YORK as Production Director. He also made stops in DETROIT at CLEAR CHANNEL Urban WJLB and CITADEL Oldies (then-Top40) WORC.WORCHESTER, NY.  He began his career at Urban AC WILD-A/BOSTON.

“I have lot of great stories and a lot of great stuff that has happened to me during in my most recent run with COX here in ATLANTA,” said DIXON. “I look forward to my next career opportunity and a chance to work with the right team that shares the same vision and passion. I have worked in multiple formats. My eight-year old daughter SKYE said to me, ‘Why don’t you start your own business, daddy?’  That’s also an option I’d also like to consider.”
