DALLAS radio icon LINWOOD HENDERSON, better known as CUZZIN' LINNIE or COUSIN LINNIE, passed away in his sleep, the DALLAS OBSERVER reports. The first disc jockey in Dallas to break radio's color barrier, HENDERSON's career stretched from KLIF (when it was The MiGHTY 1190) to KXXK ("For Groovy Grown-Ups") to KKDA-A (SOUL 73) to KNON.
KNON's WEIRD WARREN HARRIS credited LINNIE for being the "first guy to play soul on a Rock radio station."
Funeral arrangements are pending.
