CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WHYI (Y100)/MIAMI is replacing FOOTY -- whose last show is today, capping 32 years with the station -- with ELVIS DURAN AND THE Z100 MORNING ZOO from sister Top 40 WHTZ (Z100)/NEW YORK.
The show, still mostly originating at Z100, will locally be known as ELVIS DURAN AND THE Y100 MORNING ZOO, and features CAROLINA BERMUDEZ who was a regular part of FOOTY's show in 2004 before heading to Z100. Also joining the new program is FROGGY, Executive Producer of THE FOOTY IN THE MORNING SHOW and a daily fixture on the broadcast itself.
RVPP DAVE DENVER said, "Although this is the last day for Footy in the Morning, the tradition of the morning show will keep going with ELVIS DURAN AND THE Y100 MORNING ZOO. ELVIS is a legend in NEW YORK CITY and we are excited he has decided to join us and bring CAROLINA back with him!"
DURAN noted, "NEW YORK and MIAMI are the two most international cities in America. We are launching the show because of the many similarities in cultures. We are both gargantuan hubs for the entertainment industry and pop culture, so it was a natural fit."
BERMUDEZ added, "MIAMI get ready! I am back and bringing with me the best man in radio -- ELVIS DURAN."
To give the show a more local flavor, ELVIS, CAROLINA, JOHN BELL, DANIELLE MONARO, GREG T THE FRATBOY, and the others will often be broadcasting from Y100's studios. A start date is pending.
