U. Of Texas Ends 'Universo' Radio Astronomy Feature

The UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS' Spanish-language astronomy radio feature "UNIVERSO" will end production this month due to financial constraints, the school has announced. The feature, hosted by TERESA "FENDI" DE LA CRUZ, debuted APRIL 1, 1995 and aired daily through OCTOBER 31, 2010, switching to a monthly schedule at that time; At its peak, the show aired on about 200 stations in the U.S., CANADA, MEXICO, CANADA, ARGENTINA, COLOMBIA, EL SALVADOR, GUATEMALA, and VENEZUELA.
"I want to acknowledge the great work that this crew has done," said Executive Producer DAMOND BENNINGFIELD. "I want to thank everyone who has been involved in this program and helped to make it a success for many years. I look forward to working with them on future special projects."
