EMMIS Alternative WKQX (Q101)/CHICAGO hires CBS RADIO Talk WYSP (94.1 FREE FM)/PHLADELPHIA MD BRETT "SPIKE" ESKIN as APD, effective MAY 25th. SPIKE, who has been MD at WYSP for the past 3 years, replaces JACENT JACKSON who exited three months ago. SPIKE has been handling the YSP Rock Stream and the non-Talk weekend dayparts, including hosting a SUNDAY night new music show called "EXPOSED" since the station switched from Rock to Talk.
EMMIS/CHICAGO VP/Programming MIKE STERN said, "In the end, beyond the wealth of knowledge and experience SPIKE brings to this position, I chose him because he also brings WYSP’s long heritage of thinking big, acting big, and working with big talent."
"I'm honored, excited, and very happy to be joining MIKE and the team over at Q101," said ESKIN. "This is a huge career step for me, and I'm looking forward to giving it all I've got to make Q101 the very best it can be. I've spent 9 years at WYSP, and grown up here, as excited as I am to take on my new challenge, I'll be very sad to say goodbye to everyone in PHILLY."
