On FRIDAY afternoon (5/8) ARBITRON Pres./CEO STEVE MORRIS advised each member of the RFP Committee that his company's responses to the APRIL 24th specifications and questions would be on their desks this THURSDAY (5/11) morning.
According to VP/Communications THOM MOCARSKY, "The document that we will send will be detailed and comprehensive (now, closer to 300 pages at last count). It will also address additional issues and questions that were raised by those in the radio industry who are not participating in the RFP."
MORRIS' letter to the RFP committe members points out that ARBITRON has " ... fourteen years and $80 million invested in the research, development and refinement of PPM, ARBITRON has learned a lot about creating and launching electronic media measurement. In fact, PPM is the most researched and tested audience measurement system in the world. For this we owe some credit to the many advertisers, agency and radio customers -- the RFP Committee very much included -- whose questions and challenges we have been addressing for the last four years."
And, MORRIS concludes, "PPM is thoroughly tested and ready to deploy today. We will, of course, continue to enhance the capabilities of PPM system rapidly as your needs evolve and as our investments in new technologies for PPM are brought to completion." Look for ARBITRON to "be sharing this document with all of our clients to achieve the highest possible degree of transparency and broad discussion of the issues."
