Rick Sackheim Promoted To EVP/Promotion At Island Def Jam Music Group

RICK SACKHEIM has been promoted to EVP/Promotion, ISLAND DEF JAM MUSIC GROUP, it was announced TODAY (7/28) by Pres./COO STEVE BARTELS. In his new role, SACKHEIM will be overseeing all of the Mainstream Top 40, Rock, Alternative, Rhythmic/Crossover and Adult formats. SACKHEIM will report directly to BARTELS.

"RICK is one of the most seasoned professionals working in today's ever-changing radio promotion field," said BARTELS. "His diverse background in the various formats of radio that he has been closely associated with over the years, his team building and leadership skills, along with his forward thinking perspective in helping artist campaigns realize, are the perfect combination of strengths for leading the team at IDJ in the future. He has earned the trust and respect of both his staff and his industry peers. A veteran promotion executive, SACKHEIM has served as SVP/Promotion at ISLAND DEF JAM MUSIC GROUP, since NOVEMBER 2005. He began his career in 1991, with a four-year stint on the National Promotion staff of SCOTTI BROS. RECORDS, followed by a year on the National Promotion staff of PRIVATE MUSIC. He then spent a year at 911 ENTERTAINMENT, as VP/Promotion. SACKHEIM moved to RESTLESS RECORDS in LOS ANGELES in 1998, where he held positions of increasing responsibility, rising to VP/Promotion. He came to ARISTA RECORDS in 2001, as Sr. Director, Rhythm/Crossover Promotion, and was later named VP/Rhythm/Crossover Promotion. In 2004, he joined JIVE RECORDS, also as VP/Rhythm/Crossover Promotion, prior to his arrival at ISLAND DEF JAM MUSIC GROUP the following year.
