CHKX Flips From Smooth Jazz To Country As KX 94.7

Hamilton, Ontario Gets A New Country Outlet

DURHAM RADIO Inc/HAMILTON, ONTARIO has flipped CHKX, from Smooth Jazz to Country. As of AUGUST 1st the station’s new positioner is “KX 94.7.” VP/Country Programming STEVE KASSAY tells ALL ACCESS that the station was in the Smooth Jazz format for 11-years before flipping on MONDAY (8/1).

The new staff consists of TOFF & MELISSA for mornings. TOFF is BILL TOFFAN and MELISSA is MELISSA FORSYTH. Middays will be handled by LINDA MARTELLI, afternoons will be hosted by DERM CARNDUFF, followed by MIKE FULLER in evenings.

KASSAY said that all staff members are still employed and will be re-assigned.
