Jerry Sims, Little Rock Radio, TV Personality, Dies At 68

Condolences to family and friends of longtime LITTLE ROCK radio and television personality JERRY SIMS (aka the second SONNY MARTIN at Top 40 KAAY-A), who died SUNDAY (8/7) at 68. ABC affiliate KATV (TV)/LITTLE ROCK reports that SIMS died after collapsing while practicing for a softball game; he and his daughter KAREN were the first father/daughter duo in the ARKANSAS SOFTBALL HALL OF FAME.
SIMS worked at KXLR-A and KALO-A (as "LARRY LONDON"), and then, in 1962-67, at KAAY-A. He later became a television reporter and weatherman at KATV and CBS affiliate KTHV-TV. Most recently, he worked as advertising buyer at HANKS FINE FURNITURE.
