CBS RADIO is splitting the Sports mostly-simulcast of WXYT-A and WXYT-F (97.1 THE TICKET)/DETROIT, flipping the AM side to Talk as "TALK RADIO 1270" on SEPTEMBER 12th.
The AM station, which was a Talk outlet for several years (1978-2000, the first portion under the calls WXYZ-A) before going with Sports in 2000 and simulcasting in 2007, will feature a local morning show with CHARLIE LANGTON followed by PREMIERE's GLENN BECK, TALK RADIO NETWORK's LAURA INGRAHAM, COMPASS MEDIA NETWORKS' TODD SCHNITT, GENESIS' JASON LEWIS, and TRN's RUSTY HUMPHRIES. The locally-based "HIRE IT DONE" home improvement show with ADAM HELFMAN will air SATURDAY and SUNDAY mornings 8-10a (ET).
"I'm extremely excited about the launch of this new station," said SVP/Market Manager DEBBIE KENYON. "It will take an edgy and engaging point of view about issues on listeners' minds."
