The city of MEMPHIS is honoring the memory of the late JOHN "BAD DOG" MCCORMACK. MCCORMACK, remembered for his long run at CLEAR CHANNEL Rocker WEGR (ROCK 103)/MEMPHIS, lost his battle with leukemia in MARCH. He had always been a big supporter of RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE.
YESTERDAY (8/22), his family, friends and former co-workers met in front of the RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE on ALABAMA AVE., as the street was rechristened "BAD DOG AVENUE."
JOHN's brother TIM MCCORMACK told WREG-TV 3, "I was so proud of my brother and everything he has done to help these kids at the THE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE. He truly loved those kids and when he got sick the first words out of his mouth were 'TIM this is going to be great. I'll be going through the same treatment the kids go through and I'll be able to experience it with them and know what they're feeling and we're going to a raise a ton of money.'"
