After a rough night a few weeks ago in NEW YORK CITY where he was attacked and hit by a car (NET NEWS 8/9), GAVIN DEGRAW is recovered and ready to get back on tour with MAROON 5.
CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WXXL (XL106.7 FM)/ORLANDO morning show, "JOHNNY’S HOUSE," spoke with DEGRAW, who told them, "he was just trying to spend a little downtime after a show with some friends at the NATIONAL UNDERGROUND bar that he and his brother own. He had a few drinks before trying to walk home."
"I went to walk home and took the route i normally walk and I only made it a few blocks until all hell broke loose," DEGRAW said. "And I made it as far as I could after the encounter. I guess I walked a mile and a half."
"They said I got hit by a car, but i don't remember that," he said. "Basically my best memories were being in the hospital."
GAVIN told JOHNNY'S HOUSE "he remembers his attackers said something to him and he let them know he didn't like what they said. He says he won't let this incident stop him from living his life and will continue to focus on what he does best -- make music."
"It's really about getting past that and moving on with the things that I'm actually designed to do," he said. "Success is the best revenge."

Kidd Hears More
DEGRAW added more details about the incident with KIDD KRADDICK IN THE MORNING. When he hailed a cab for his friends to head home, a group of guys started yelling at the singer. "I thought to myself, ‘This is not going to be a good night,’" DEGRAW recalled. One the fight started, "I stood my ground until the ground came out from under me."
He initially there was oil on his face, until he realized it was blood. He continued heading home when he got hit by a cab about 1.5 miles later. There was a silver lining, though. “The thing I came away with that I thought was the most important..." he concluded, "...was my teeth.”
