Last week (NET NEWS 8/16), ALL ACCESS was the first to tip you to the artificial intelligent radio personality, known as "DENISE." TODAY (8/24) from 1-4p CT, KROV-HD2/SAN ANTONIO turned the airwaves over to DENISE.
KTFM/SAN ANTONIO's DOMINIQUE GARCIA, who is working on 'DENISE,' told ALL ACCESS ,"She has been great, the launch was spectacular. My biggest fear is that people will except her default voice as unchangeable. That is not true. Her voice is changeable, even to a male voice if desired. I want for people to hear the entire shift so they can hear her voice change in the 3rd hour. I have been contacted by many media outlets, all wanting to know more information. I posted a copy of my update article on the KROV web page so if people can reference it if they need more information. The response has been surprisingly positive. There have been negative responses but that was expected."
"One thing I have read a lot is the misconception that DENISE is a robot," continued GARCIA. "That assumption is untrue. DENISE is an artificial intelligent program. A program that was never intended to be used as such; however I took what she could do and applied it to the radio industry. Instead of using her as, let's say, home security or my home phone receptionist, I will be using her to do talk breaks as if a human radio personality would normally do. Smartphone applications of DENISE are in the works."
"If anyone has any additional questions for me please contact KROV and they will take the proper steps to contacting me," added GARCIA. "You can also get to me on TWITTER at @DomOnAir."
