Longtime radio personality BOB LEONARD, most recently morning news anchor at METRO NETWORKS in MIAMI and best known as half of FOX AND LEONARD (with SONNY FOX) at WYSP/PHILADELPHIA, has told his FACEBOOK friends that he is retiring from radio.
"To quote Dirty Harry -- 'A man’s got to know his limitations,'" LEONARD wrote TODAY (8/25). "That being said, it’s time to 'hang up the headphones' and call it a day. After 46 years in radio -- I am now officially retired." LEONARD was recently diagnosed with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo and is in the process of recovery, but has decided to close out his long career, which included stops at, besides WYSP, WLS-A/CHICAGO and SATELLITE MUSIC NETWORK before going into news at MARKET NEWS FIRST and then CITADEL Talk WBAP-A/DALLAS.
