After stunting all weekend with a loop of construction noises, "jock jams," sports clips, and "Rocky Top," with a whipsered "MONDAY 6 am" and then, at 5:30a (CT) MONDAY, a loop of the chorus of JOURNEY's "The Party's Over" with occasional voiceovers noting how annoying the loop is and promising something new at 6a, THE CROMWELL GROUP formally flipped Hot AC WPRT (102.5 THE PARTY)/NASHVILLE to Sports TODAY (8/29) at 6a (CT) as 102.5 THE GAME.
The flip, first reported at ALL ACCESS (NET NEWS 8/15), features former crosstown CITADEL Sports WGFX (104.5 THE ZONE) host DARREN MCFARLAND and former TENNESSEE TITANS Tackle BRAD HOPKINS hosting a local morning show ("THE FIRST QUARTER"), moving over from crosstown SOUTHERN WABASH COMMUNICATIONS Sports WNSR-A.
