There's some serious stunting going on at a couple CUMULUS stations down South. Top 40 WJLQ (i100)/PENSACOLA, FL. WJLQ is presently stunting with themes and audio of vintage entertainment and news television shows; its website bears the phrase, "FRIDAY, 1 pm ... All Will Be Revealed." You can listen to the stream there as well.
"Given that CUMULUS' WBLX serves is the market music leader in MOBILE and among the top-ranked stations in PENSACOLA, we will move the huge PENSACOLA/MOBILE market signal of WJLQ to a format that is not being served on FM in either market," CUMULUS SVP/Programming JAN JEFFRIES said.
Meanwhile, up the road a piece, CUMULUS Country WWFF/HUNTSVILLE, AL is also stunting and teasing a format change. While the music veers from 10-minute sweeps of Classic Country, Top 40, all-MICHAEL JACKSON and Smooth Jazz, among other genres, a voice promises a new format on FRIDAY at 9:33a.
Listen live as they proclaim, "The storm is coming...It will be legendary..." right here.
