Erik Olesen To Head Epic Records Promotion

After leaving ISLAND DEF JAM as SVP/Promotion after nearly 12 years, ERIK OLESEN will join EPIC RECORDS on TUESDAY (9/6) as SVP/Promotion. In his new role, OLESEN will oversee day-to-day promotion, as well as promotion strategy for all formats at EPIC.

OLESEN, fresh from a month off with the family, told ALL ACCESS, "I've had a lot of fun with the family and I am refreshed and ready. This is an exciting opportunity to be working with L.A. REID again, and to take the EPIC brand to new heights of success in airplay and sales.

"We have a motivated staff that has great relationships with radio. Everyone on the team is looking forward to the challenge."

Before joining ISLAND, OLESEN spent 12 years at ELEKTRA RECORDS as Nat'l Dir./Promotion -- beginning his career at the label as an intern.
