Radio ad inventories shrank again in APRIL, according to HARRIS NESBITT analyst LEE WESTERFIELD's latest monthly Radio Airtime Monitor, with commercial time down 5.4% for the month, less than the 8%-9% decreases of recent months.
One reason for the smaller decline: APRIL is the first anniversary of CLEAR CHANNEL's "Less is More" initiative. WESTERFIELD, noting that he sees no signs growth will be improving this year, lowered his third and fourth quarter radio revenue growth estimates to 2% and 3%.
