It's day one for GLENN BECK's new internet-only show, his first broadcast since exiting FOX NEWS. The two hour show airs on GBTV.COM, and THE WALL STREET JOURNAL reports, "will focus on taking action, particularly in the wake of the 10-year anniversary of SEPTEMBER 11th. BECK will also discuss the state of the economy.
BECK told the JOURNAL that the new show "will resemble the one he anchored on FOX, with features like his trademark chalkboard and call to activism. GBTV is not for slugs," he said. It's news for people who want to get involved and play a role in saving our country."
The new network reported 80,000 subscribers in JUNE, and now claims more than 230,000.
Regarding his leaving a traditional network, BECK said, "I think networks are a thing of the past. I don't know anybody under 30 who is watching television the way I watched television. Technology has allowed people to change the way they consume the news, and we want to be where people are going."
